Weighbridge

On the Eldon's Siding side of Norden the weighbridge was located. Originally the the waggons would be weighed on their way to either Eldon's Sidings or back to the Processing shed at Norden, or when that closed,  to the lorry drop, where the clay was tipped into waiting lorries to be transported to Furzebrook.

Below is the scene in the 1960's of the waggons waiting to be weighed.

In 1975 gone were the tracks leaving the quaint little shed and a large open pit where the Weighbridge once sat.

The weighbridge was visited by Pete Frost who rescued the remains of the Telephone system. Pete has kindly donated the equipment to the Museum. The pictures below show the early 1950's equipment - a Bell Set No.20 Mark 235.
